prominence as a highly respected skateboarder, competitive or non-competitive

in the skateboarding community regionally, nationally, or internationally. Not

necessarily – your cousins friend’s brother who had a ramp at one time but then

disappeared.

Skateboarder Female: Awarded to an individual female, who has achieved

prominence as a highly respected skateboarder, competitive or non-competitive

in the skateboarding community regionally, nationally, or internationally.

Competing as a professional skateboard is not required but helpful. Overall

impact to inspiring, championing and promoting women in skateboarding is

paramount.

Industry: Awarded to an individual or group. Males, or female, who has achieved

prominence in the skateboarding industry as a skate/surf shop owner; skateboard

manufacturer, Media professional (who has achieved prominence in the creation

or distribution of skateboarding content in print, digital, film, or television,; as a

publisher, editor, photographer, writer, or another position of prominence),

skatepark owner, a business leader, influential sales representative;

contest/event producer or organizer; or whose work has led to important product

design or equipment innovation in the skateboarding community regionally,

nationally or internationally.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION - The Dave Ellis Pioneer & Innovation Award: The award

recipient shall be selected by the FLSHOF executive committee and the

Nomination Committee co-chairs and awarded to an individual, male, or female,

who has considerably focused on skatepark construction, innovation in park design and construction methods, and community support in DIY projects, etc.

–Dave Ellis was a true lifer in skateboarding and highly respected among his

skateboarding, construction, and music peers in here in Florida and nationwide.

So much a lifer that what he represented raised the bar and is deserving of its

own special recognition award. For those who have made a lasting contribution in leadership, skate park/skate ramp design, DIY construction and mentoring the future builders of Florida Skateboarding spots and the promotion of the Skateboarding community in general.
